AI Workflows for Applied Research and Evaluation
A GEBA three-day workshop on AI-enabled research in economics and business | 21–23 October 2026 FEAA · UAIC Iași, Romania
|
ARC AWARE – AI Workflows for Applied Research and Evaluation is the first workshop edition organized by ARC – The AI² Research Club.
ARC AWARE examines how Artificial Intelligence is changing research practice: the tools researchers use, the workflows built around them, the questions of originality and intellectual contribution they create, and the methods used to study AI itself through the scientific literature.
The workshop takes place in association with the 18th edition of the International Conference Globalization and Higher Education in Economics and Business Administration (GEBA 2026). The three-day programme combines a public GenAI workshop, an academic panel, and a peer-reviewed research session.
FORMAT Three connected days Workshop · Panel · Research session | PARTICIPATION Free of charge Registration and room capacity apply | LOCATION In person at FEAA Research presentations are in person only |
21 October Wednesday | Understanding GenAI Modes: Tools, Providers and Responsible Uses ARC AWARE opens with the public launch of ARC – The AI² Research Club, followed by a practical workshop on contemporary Generative AI workflows. The session examines reasoning modes, web search and deep research, connectors, document and data analysis, multimodal tools, code workflows, provider differences, verification, privacy, and responsible academic use. The programme is open to the academic community and interested public, subject to registration and room capacity. Event details and registration ↗ |
22 October Thursday | What Counts as an Original Contribution in Research Enabled by AI? The second day features an academic panel organized within the GEBA 2026 programme. The discussion considers originality, intellectual contribution, accountability, validation, and researcher responsibility when AI tools become part of research practice. Topics include the use of AI for programming, data analysis, writing, restructuring, source discovery, prototyping, and experimental reproduction, together with the researcher's responsibility for methodological choices, verification, interpretation, and the final contribution. 23 October Friday | Scientometric and Literature-Based Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence The research session brings together selected contributions examining Artificial Intelligence, AI research, or clearly defined AI-related topics through scientometric, bibliometric, science-mapping, systematic-review, and other structured literature-based methods. Both completed studies and ongoing research reporting intermediate, preliminary, or partial findings are eligible following peer review and selection. Approximately 6–10 contributions will be selected. Presentations will receive approximately 12–15 minutes, followed by around 5 minutes for questions and discussion. ARC AWARE invites extended research notes for Scientometric and Literature-Based Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence, the peer-reviewed research session taking place on 23 October 2026.
The session is dedicated to studies investigating Artificial Intelligence, AI research, or a clearly defined AI-related topic through the scientific literature.
Contributions may use scientometric or bibliometric analysis, systematic or structured literature reviews, scoping reviews, mapping studies, science mapping, citation analysis, bibliographic coupling, co-citation, co-authorship analysis, thematic development, interdisciplinary analysis, or methodological approaches to literature-based AI research.
Studies examining AI or GenAI within research practice, scholarly communication, or literature-analysis workflows are also welcome.
Scope boundary. The AI component must be explicit and substantive. General Machine Learning experiments, software demonstrations, benchmark studies without a literature-analysis component, opinion papers, and purely narrative overviews without a clearly described method are outside the scope of the session.
Submission format Submissions should take the form of an extended research note of up to 6 pages, including references. Initial submissions are accepted in free format and must be submitted as PDF files. Both completed and ongoing research are eligible. Authors may report final, intermediate, preliminary, or partial findings, provided that the current stage of the research is clearly described. | Review and selection Each submission will undergo double-blind peer review by two reviewers. Manuscripts submitted for review must therefore be anonymized. Reviewers will consider fit, research-question clarity, methodological design, corpus construction, adequacy of the analysis, stage reporting, claim–result correspondence, and clarity of presentation. Acceptance for presentation does not automatically imply final acceptance for publication. Authors may be asked to revise their research note. |

ARC AWARE encourages transparent and reproducible literature-based research. Where licensing conditions permit, authors are encouraged to make analytical code, workflows, derived data, and supporting materials available through Zenodo or another established research repository.
Raw bibliographic records should only be redistributed where permitted by the terms of the source database. Where redistribution is restricted, authors should provide the search strategy, processing code, documentation, and other information needed to reconstruct the analytical workflow as closely as possible.
INTENDED OPEN DISSEMINATION
Mapping Artificial Intelligence Research: Scientometric, Bibliometric, and Literature Review Studies
Following peer review and revision, selected contributions will be considered for a proceedings collection deposited through Zenodo with DOI-based persistent identification, or individual dissemination through SSRN. The final route will be communicated to authors before publication.
